RCS bars

Maruti Inox is a manufacturer and supplier of stainless steel RCS bars in Gujarat, India, with its manufacturing facility located in Mehsana. Our Round Corner Square (RCS) bars are hot rolled and supplied in as-rolled, spot-ground, and straightened conditions for forging and other downstream industrial applications. The rounded corners provide a practical alternative to sharp-corner square bars, while the available size and supply-condition options support different processing requirements.

RCS Bars Specifications

Our stainless steel RCS bars are available from 40mm to 100mm in lengths up to 6.0 metres. The table below outlines the available size range, supply condition and lengths.

What Are RCS Bars?

RCS bars, or Round Corner Square bars, are square-section hot rolled bars with rounded corners instead of sharp square edges. The rounded-corner profile provides a smoother transition at the edges and makes RCS bars particularly suitable as starting material for forging and other downstream processing.

Unlike conventional sharp-corner square bars, the RCS profile is designed for applications where the bar will undergo further forming or machining. The required RCS size is generally selected according to the dimensions and processing requirements of the finished component.

Applications of RCS Bars

Stainless steel RCS bars are commonly used as starting material for components that undergo further forging, machining or other downstream processing.

Typical applications include:

  • Forged components
  • Automotive components
  • Flanges and fittings
  • Shafts and mechanical components
  • Engineering components
  • Industrial machinery components
  • Other downstream forging applications

Supply Conditions

RCS bars from Maruti Inox are available in three supply conditions.

  1. As-rolled: Bars are supplied directly from the rolling process in their as-rolled condition with mill finish surface.
  2. Spot-ground: Selected surface areas are ground to remove surface irregularities where required.
  3. Straightened: Bars are straightened after rolling to meet the required straightness for downstream handling and processing.

The appropriate supply condition can be selected based on the requirements of the downstream process and customer specifications.

Why Source RCS Bars from Maruti Inox?

Maruti Inox manufactures stainless steel RCS bars at its facility in Mehsana, Gujarat, using certified stainless steel scrap melted and rolled in-house. Available in sizes from 40 mm to 100 mm across multiple grades, RCS bars are supplied with a Material Test Certificate (MTC) confirming chemical composition and mechanical properties for every supply.

RCS bars are produced under a TÜV SÜD ISO 9001:2015 certified quality management system, supporting controlled production and consistent quality. Stainless steel RCS bars are available in multiple grades. Contact our team to confirm grade availability for your specific processing requirements.

Frequently Asked Questions

RCS bars, or Round Corner Square bars, are square-section hot rolled bars with rounded corners instead of sharp square edges. They are commonly used as starting material for forging and other downstream processing applications.

RCS bars are used as starting material for forging, machining and other downstream manufacturing processes. Typical applications include forged components, shafts, flanges, fittings, automotive components and industrial machinery parts.

Round Corner Square (RCS) bars provide a square-section starting material with rounded corners, making them suitable for applications requiring further forging, forming or machining. The profile provides an alternative to conventional sharp-corner square bars for specific downstream processing requirements.

Maruti Inox supplies stainless steel RCS bars from 40 mm to 100 mm, with lengths available up to 6.0 metres. The required size and length can be selected according to the downstream processing requirements.

RCS bars are available in as-rolled, spot-ground and straightened conditions. The appropriate supply condition can be selected according to the surface, straightness and downstream processing requirements.

The right RCS bar should be selected based on the stainless steel grade, size, length, supply condition and downstream process, such as forging or machining. The requirements of the finished component should also be considered when selecting the material.
