Continuous Cast Billets

Maruti Inox is a stainless steel continuous cast billet manufacturer and supplier in Gujarat, India. Our CC billets are produced from high-grade certified stainless steel scrap in our in-house melting facility in Mehsana. Supplied in as-cast or spot-ground condition, they serve as primary feedstock for rolling mills, forging units and downstream steel processors. A Material Test Certificate is issued with every supply.

What is a Continuous Cast Billet?

A continuous cast billet is a semi-finished stainless steel product produced by solidifying molten steel through a continuous casting process into a square cross-section. Unlike ingots which are cast in static moulds, continuous casting produces billets in a continuous stream, resulting in uniform internal structure, reduced segregation and consistent dimensional accuracy. Continuous cast billets are not finished products. They serve as semi-finished feedstock intended for further conversion into bars, sections and other long products through rolling, forging or other hot working processes.

What is the Difference Between a CC Billet and an Ingot?

Continuous cast billets and ingots are both semi-finished stainless steel products, but they differ in their casting process and resulting properties.

Continuous cast billets are produced through a continuous casting process where molten steel is solidified in a continuous stream. This results in uniform grain structure, lower segregation and consistent cross-sectional dimensions, making them well suited for rolling and re-rolling operations.

Ingots are cast in static moulds using a bottom-pour process. The bottom-pour method provides sound internal structure and low segregation, making ingots particularly suitable for forging applications where internal soundness is critical.

Maruti Inox supplies both continuous cast billets and forging quality ingots to meet the requirements of different downstream processing operations.

Applications of Continuous Cast Billets

Stainless steel continuous cast billets from Maruti Inox are supplied to processors and manufacturers requiring semi-finished feedstock for further conversion.

Typical applications include:

  • Rolling mills (for conversion into bars, sections and profiles)
  • Forging units (for forged bars, flanges, shafts and rings)
  • Re-rolling operations
  • Downstream steel processors
  • Component manufacturers requiring custom starting material

Supply Conditions

Continuous cast billets from Maruti Inox are available in two supply conditions.

  1. As-cast: Billets are supplied directly from the casting process without additional surface treatment. This condition is suitable for processors who will remove the surface during subsequent rolling or forging operations.
  2. Spot-ground: Selected surface areas are ground to remove surface irregularities where required for specific downstream processing needs.

The appropriate supply condition can be selected based on the requirements of the downstream process and the customer’s quality specifications.

Why Source Continuous Cast Billets from Maruti Inox?

If you are looking for a CC billets manufacturer and supplier in India, Maruti Inox produces continuous cast billets from certified stainless steel scrap at its vertically integrated facility in Mehsana, Gujarat. Our in-house melting operations allow greater control over material quality and production consistency from the earliest stage of the manufacturing process.

Every billet supply is issued with a Material Test Certificate confirming chemical composition and mechanical properties, supporting traceability requirements for downstream processors.

Billets are produced under a TÜV SÜD ISO 9001:2015 certified quality management system, supporting consistent quality standards across all sizes and supply conditions.

Stainless steel continuous cast billets are available in multiple grades. Please contact us our team to confirm grade availability for your specific processing requirement.
